Nestled in High Wycombe, the Diligent Developments workshop is where our talented craftsmen bring your designs to life. With a commitment to perfection and a suite of the latest equipment, our workshop is the home of our specialist services.

Here, we can take projects from inception and design through to completion without outsourcing to unknown third parties. Our workshop has the capacity for projects of all sizes, and our high-quality tradesmen have the expertise to get the ball rolling.

In the workshop, each project is much more than a simple job. It’s the chance to showcase years of experience, an unwavering commitment to the craft, and to bring our clients’ ideas into 3D.

Diligent Developments and the workshop are covered by Employer’s Liability Insurance, Public Liability Insurance, and Contractors All Risk Insurance.

Dave Townsend

CEO

Dave, the CEO of Diligent brings a wealth of experience to the helm with an impressive 25-year journey as a bench joiner. His passion for woodworking and commitment to quality craftsmanship have defined his career. Transitioning seamlessly from a bench joiner to the leader of Diligent, Dave has instilled a family ethos approach within the business. In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave took a bold step and established a workshop in January 2021 to offer bespoke furniture. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter for Diligent. In just a few short months, by April 2021, the workshop proudly delivered and installed its first kitchen and bespoke furniture project in Beaconsfield, showcasing Dave’s dedication to excellence and client satisfaction.

Trish Townsend

Trish Townsend is a dedicated professional who, alongside her husband Dave, plays a pivotal role in the success of Diligent Developments. With a first degree hons BSc in Quantity Surveying, Trish embarked on her career as a Quantity Surveyor for a prominent house builder in the South East of England. Over the years, she navigated through the ranks and eventually found herself at Diligent Developments, where she seamlessly balanced career growth with raising two children. Currently, Trish takes on the multifaceted responsibilities of managing the office, overseeing accounts, HR functions, operations, handling emails, and serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries. Her commitment and expertise contribute significantly to the smooth functioning of Diligent, making her an indispensable asset to the company.

Darren Brown

BENCH JOINER AND WORKSHOP MANAGER

Darren Brown is our highly skilled Bench Joiner and Workshop Manager with an impressive 37 years of experience in the field. Throughout his extensive career, Darren has honed his craftsmanship and expertise, becoming a seasoned professional in the art of woodworking and joinery. His dedication to his craft is evident in the meticulous attention to detail and precision he brings to every project. As a Workshop Manager, Darren not only showcases his exceptional joinery skills but also demonstrates effective leadership, guiding and mentoring his team to deliver outstanding results.

James Bryant

Apprentice Carpenter / Joiner

James is a promising Level 2 carpentry apprentice, soon to complete his level 3 qualification. James has embarked on a journey to master the art of carpentry. With a keen interest in the intricacies of woodworking, James has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for his craft. Throughout his apprenticeship, he has immersed himself in learning various carpentry techniques, from framing and joinery to finishing touches.

Paul Underwood

Electrician

Meet Paul Underwood, the Diligent electrician, who brought his exceptional skills and passion to the team in January 2023. Beyond being a highly skilled electrician, Paul is deeply passionate about smart homes and intelligent lighting – a perfect complement to our bespoke furniture offerings at Diligent Developments. With a wealth of knowledge, Paul goes beyond conventional electrical work, offering expert advice on lighting, power, heating, Wi-Fi, security, and other intricate electrical design requirements.
